Home › Rayleigh

Rayleigh sits on the east side of the North Thompson along Highway 5, south of Heffley Creek, cut off from the rest of Kamloops by the river and reserve land. It was a post office called Rayleigh Mount before it joined the city in May 1973, and the Tournament Capital Ranch and its softball complex are just to the north. The housing is mostly 1970s and 1980s ranchers and split-levels on larger lots, many with detached shops.

The north-facing sides of Rayleigh homes are where the frozen-pipe calls come from, and the fix is closed-cell foam on the rim joist and crawl space walls so the crawl space becomes conditioned space. Cantilevered floors over nothing are the other cold spot, and they get closed-cell from below.

Common Rayleigh jobs: crawl space walls and rim joists, cantilevers, detached shops and garages with closed-cell on metal, and attic air-sealing before a top-up. Rayleigh is on the Yellowhead run, so it is grouped with Heffley Creek and Barriere trips when that keeps the travel cost down.

Services in Rayleigh

Metal buildings and detached shops, foamed so they can be heated in January.
