Home › Juniper Ridge

Juniper Ridge is the hillside subdivision at the southeast end of Kamloops, south of the South Thompson, laid out on the old Cordonier sheep ranch after the Municipality of Valleyview approved the Hesperia development in August 1971 and Juniper Lands took it over that December. It was built in phases from the 1970s onward, so the housing runs from early split-levels near the school to newer two-storeys on the upper benches, and it is reached by one road, Highland Road.

The ridge is exposed: it gets the wind off the valley, sits above the inversion in winter, and is surrounded by grass and juniper that make it an interface neighbourhood. Foam here is about tightening the envelope, whether that is the rim joist on a 1970s split-level, a vaulted ceiling in a newer house, or a garage that faces the weather.

Common Juniper Ridge jobs: vaulted and cathedral ceilings, rim joists and crawl space walls in the original phases, and detached garages and workshops being made heatable. Because access is one road in, the contractor groups Juniper jobs so a trip covers more than one house.

Services in Juniper Ridge

Attic Spray Foam

Air-seal and insulate the attic in one pass, including the cathedral ceilings batts cannot handle.

Crawl Space and Rim Joist

Cold floors and damp crawl spaces are a rim joist and crawl wall problem, and foam is the standard fix.

Shops, Garages and Pole Barns

Metal buildings and detached shops, foamed so they can be heated in January.

New Builds and Renovations

Foam for builders: open-cell walls, closed-cell rims, and the schedule that goes with them.
